I was born in Tasmania some time ago. My immediate family still reside here and I have finally managed to return, after 21 years in the Royal Australian Air Force and several in Canberra after that. I have now bought a house and am in the process of settling in.
I have visited every Navy, Army and Air Force base in Australia during my period of service, but have never been overseas - something I would like to remedy as soon as I find an interested (and interesting) travelling partner.
My main interests, sort of in this order, are golf, computers, family history research, reading (mainly Science Fiction and Fantasy), movies and photography. I have been working on my family history since the mid-70s but have only "fired-up" in the last 10 years. Several cousins have been feeding me information since I'm the computer-literate one in the family.
This site is devoted to publishing my family history research, where I have tried to not include living people. So I might have more data than is presented here. Conversely, if you wish information removed, please let me know.
I recommend, if you're just starting out, that you follow these standards for sound genealogical research. I didn't and so have quite a bit of data with08-Mar-2008ation that contradicts my own, I usually replace my data with the "sourced" data. I have produced several books for different family reunions and would like to formally publish one some time in the next five years.
The beautiful and useful tabs at the top this these pages were created by a genious in cascading style sheets - Stu Nicholls. If you're into website design, visit his site at http://www.stunicholls.myby.co.uk/index.html. Thanks to Stu, the above menu has been produced without the need for images and will work in Internet Explorer 5.2, Opera 7.54, Mozilla 1.75, Camino 0.8.1, Netscape 7.1, Safari 1.3, and Firefox 1.0 - I hope it works on your browser too!
